Student Ambassadors
Questions? Concerns? Who better to answer them
than our current students! The Student Ambassador page allows you to
learn more about the kinds of people who make industrial engineering a fantastic
program. We are very proud of our students; they are a remarkable,
bright group of men and women - Canada's future leaders. These students
have included their email address so that you can contact them directly
with any questions you have about life at UTMIE. Please direct all

Andrew Chun,
Class of 2011
Hometown: Mississauga, Ontario
(lives on campus: New College)
Interests: Andrew is proficient at the piano
(Grade 8), enjoys running (5km - 10km), swimming and recreational rock
climbing. Additionally, Andrew enjoys planning parties and social
events.
University
Life: Andrew is actively with a number
of on-campus organizations, including Engineers Without Borders (EWB),
Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) and the St. George chapter of DECA. Aside
from serving on the New College Residence Council, Andrew also paddles
for the Iron Dragons, the Engineering Dragon Boat team.
Advice to new
students: "Get involved in school! You will
only get to experience University once, make the most of it!"
Future
Hopes: Upon graduation,
Andrew is planning to obtain an MBA - he has dreams of becoming an
executive for a large engineering firm.

Sabrina Tang,
Class of 2011
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario
(commutes by TTC)
Interests: Sabrina is a musician at heart -
she enjoys playing the piano and clarinet, as well as choir singing and
starring in musical theatre. Sabrina also plays many sports, including
volleyball, cross country, track & field and curling.
University
Life: Sabrina keeps herself busy during
the school year with extensive club involvement. She is currently the
Director of Curriculum Enhancement for Engineers Without Borders, the
VP Finance of the IIE and 1T1
Class Representative.
Advice to new
students: "Get involved! Whether it is
sports, music, clubs or student government, 1st Year is your chance to
try new things, meet new people and explore the opportunity university
offers. Capre diem!"
Future
Hopes: Sabrina hopes to
work in the healthcare industry, but knows that "life is short and
plans change." Sabrina's plan is to mostly go with the flow!

Daniel Marquez,
Class of 2008
Hometown: Vancouver, Canada
(commutes by TTC)
Interests: Daniel enjoys exercising, playing
Frisbee, watching movies and reading.
University
Life: Daniel holds many leadership
positions on campus - he is currently the Industrial Engineering
Club Chair, Event Chair for this year's F!rosh Week, Council Member of
the Engineering Society (EngSoc). Daniel is a three year veteran of
Skule Nite, the Engineering Theatre Company, and is involved with Skule
organization such as the LGMB and Cannon Guard.
Advice to new
students: "Take
the time to figure out what your weaknesses are, and strive to make
them your strengths."
Future
Hopes: Dan intends to
work in the field of consulting, before moving on with his own
entrepreneurial ventures. Eventually, he thinks he would enjoy
returning to become an Industry Professor.

Stephanie Anam, Class of 2008
Hometown: Unionville, Ontario
(lives in off-campus housing)
Interests: Stephanie enjoys playing soccer,
volleyball, ultimate frisbee and other Skule sports. In addition, she
coaches youth soccer to 4-5 year olds in the summer.
University
Life: Stephanie has been
actively involved with numerous Engineering clubs on campus, having
held leadership positions with Indy Club and EAA - this year she will
be the active President of the EAA. Stephanie enjoys playing intramural
sports - these include soccer,
volleyball, ultimate frisbee and waterpolo.
Advice to new
students: "Don't
be afraid to join clubs in 1st year. It's not only a great way to meet
people, but we also don't mind showing you the ropes when it comes to
Skule spirit and academics. Just ask!"
Future
Hopes: Stephanie's hope
for the near future is to work within the field of Human Factors and
travel abroad for the first few years after graduation.

Wayne
Lin, Class of 2011
Hometown: Taipei, Taiwan (lives in
off-campus apartment)
Interests: Wayne enjoys a
variety of hobbies and activities, including listening to music,
playing the trumpet, tennis, going to the gym with friends, cooking,
watching movies and finding new restaurants to dine at.
University
Life: Wayne is a leader
within EngSoc, having held the positions of 1st Year Engineering Chair
& TrackOne Class Rep. He is involved in debate (UofT Engineering
Debate Team and OECD) and plays for the Skule Stage Band.
Advice to new
students: "Going to University is like
visiting a new country, if you only hit all the tourist spots you're
not going to be able to make the fullest of your trip. Make this
experience your own and enjoy your time at school!"
Future
Hopes: Wayne hopes to
graduate from school having discovered his passion, and plans to roam
the world and build a career around his interests.
