Research Assistantships
Research assistantships (RA) are monthly payments from a professor's grants or contracts. Normally, these payments are made only to M.A.Sc. or Ph.D. students working under the direct supervision of the professor. The amount of any research assistantship is specified in the offer of admission and is subject to satisfactory progress in the research and academic program. A student may be required to perform some duties not directly connected with the research assistantship as a condition of the RA payment, e.g. maintenance of the laboratory, training other students on the use of laboratory equipment.
