Financial Assistance
The Department offers
full financial support to all M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. applicants who are
admitted to our programs. Details of the support package are
specified with the offer of admission. The support covers both
academic fees and living expenses. This support comes from many
sources: government scholarships, university fellowships, research
assistantships, teaching assistantships, and industrial awards.
Note that the total financial package provides sufficient funds to
support the student, but is not intended to support family members as
well. Top-up awards are granted to winners of government NSERC
and OGS scholarships. For information on tuition fees, click here.
New applicants to our graduate programs do NOT
need to complete any special forms to apply for departmental
fellowships; you will automatically be considered for all such awards
at the time of the admission decision. In particular, our most
prestigious award, the Glynn Williams Fellowship, is offered to one
outstanding applicant to our graduate programs each year.
