Machining Program
The Department of Mechanical and
Industrial Engineering is excited to
announce the continuation of our Machining
Program.
This project is made possible through collaboration with George Brown College. Students enrolled
in this pilot will have the opportunity to receive hands-on training in
George Brown’s extensive and up-to-date machining facilities. The
importance of such training cannot be overstated. Engineers with a firm
understanding of current machining capabilities and limitations can
engineer systems designed for quick and easy manufacture. Further,
students interested in the vast array of campus groups such as the
Solar Car Team and Formula SAE will find this training invaluable.
The Machining
Program will be offered in three separate modules. This allows students
to progress through the program at their own pace. The modules are as
follows:
- Basic Machine Operation
- Advanced Machining
- Basic Welding Operations
All students
wishing to use the MIE Student Workshop will be required to successfully complete the first
module, Basic Machine Operation.
