Employers - Get Involved with MIE

Our Programs:

High in demand, industrial engineers have the highest employment rate in the faculty because they can adapt and apply their skills to any work environment.  The Industrial Engineering curriculum was developed with industry input with an emphasis on integrated system design. Students can specialize in Human Factors, Information Systems, or Operations Research.

The Mechanical Engineering program at U of T is the largest of its kind in Canada. Students can specialize in two of five streams: mechatronics, manufacturing, solid mechanics & machine design, energy & environment, and bioengineering.

How to Get Involved:

The University will be hosting this year's Career Information Days for the days of September 15-19, 2008. Last year, over 130 employers registered for the event to provide company and career information to over 3600 students. Taking place on the St. George (downtown) campus from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, this week-long networking session is a great opportunity for employers and students alike to get a sense of career options and paths. For more information about this event, please visit Career Centre: Career Fairs

There will also be a second Engineering career fair in January 2009. Details for this event will be available in Fall 2008. If you would like to be on a mailing list for this event, please send an email to shannon@mie.utoronto.ca

Employers may also interact with undergraduate MIE students through both the Professional Experience Year (PEY) and Engineering Summer Internship Program (eSIP). Please visit the Engineering Career Centre for more information.

The M.Eng Internship Program offers you the opportunity to work with our graduate students at your company's site. Working towards their M.Eng degree, these trained engineers take leading edge technical and management courses, giving you the best of both worlds. This 3-month internship benefits both the graduate student and your company.
