Career Panels

The 2008 MIE Career panel will be held on Tuesday January 22nd.

This event was held in 2007 and was met with great success. We have brought it back for 2008 and lined up all new panelists to speak with you about what an engineering career is really all about. The career panel is meant to help students from all years identify the various career options, industry trends, and insight into the different engineering careers in an open discussion-based session with leaders in different fields.

So whether your are in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year this is one event you should not miss. Our fantastic panelists will help you learn more about the particular paths you can take when you leave U of T. For those 4th year students who have already accepted a job the panelists can answer your questions about what it's "really going to be like" once you leave school and enter the work world.

There will be a mechanical panel and an industrial panel each with 5 speakers reprepresenting a variety of ME and IE industries. The list of speakers and the industries they are reprsenting is listed in the charts below. There is also a link to the panelists biographies. We have a phenomenal list of panelists this year.

After the career panel there will be a student/alumni networking reception with the panelists and some additional MIE alumni who  are coming back to meet with you the students.

Our alumni were very impressed with the students they met at the November 28th Leaders of Tomorrow Networking Breakfast and they are looking forward to meeting even more of you at the Carere panel.
